What are your goals specifically? Do you have them written down? that is where you need to start! What do you want to accomplish and why is this important to you? Be sure that each goal is written out for you to be able to revisit and reanalyze easily. So yes, that means go write them down and keep scrolling.
How will you measure your goals? Will there be a way you can see yourself making progress? What will that look like. How do you know if you're winning and smashing those goals?
Are these goals something that are realistic and attainable? Is the amount of time you have to work on them realist to what you want to accomplish? For example, if you only have 5 hours a week to work on your business will a full time income be attainable for this allocation of time? Most likely it won't- however that doesn't mean to give up on that goal completely it may just mean that you have to break this goal up in a longer time frame. So instead of saying this will happen this month- give yourself 6 months to work towards that goal. Once you figure out how to break those lofty goals in to pieces the more realistic the outcome will be and the more likely you will reach them.
Are these goals relevant? Are these goals worth it based on your priorities? Do these goals match where you see yourself? Each goal should be unique and important having clear relevancy to why this is a goal and how it fits in to your plan is crucial to how the goal will be attained.
What is the timeline you are giving yourself to accomplish and reach these goals? You have to give yourself a deadline! Without a deadline you will not be held accountable. A great tip to be sure you're meeting your timeline is to break your timeline up in to small pieces. If you want to accomplish a goal by May- check in monthly to see where you are at. You can also pair yourself up with an accountability partner that can help check-in with you and be sure that you are moving forward and on track for success.
Finally, don't be afraid to reward yourself. Having small incentives throughout your goal timeline is huge for success. If you are trying to reach a certain position at work but you have two promotions to get there- reward yourself with something each time you hit a promotion. Want to lose 20 pounds this year? Reward yourself at every 5 pounds lost. Having these small celebrations will not only keep you on track, but will increase the likelihood that you will reach that end goal.
Now go smash those goals! We believe in you!
